As a mother of biracial sons, Molly looks deeply at what it means to be a white woman in America today. Weaving together memories from her childhood in Detroit to the pandemic and civil unrest of 2020, she honors the people and places who shaped her - and celebrates the enduring power of love and family.

  • As a child of a white mother and black father I found Molly’s show to be incredibly powerful. Never before had I felt so racially seen through a piece of art. Molly expertly, sensitively, and occasionally hilariously navigates the stories of being mixed race through the perspective of her sons while also somehow, seamlessly being respectful of the fact that she can never fully understand what it means to be a black person and/or black man in this country. Her love, her grief, and her dedication to learning as a mother is palpable throughout the entire show and all of this is due to her talents as an incredible storyteller. I left her performance incredibly moved.
